Saga of a Knight part 2 The saga of the Knight in shining armor continues The Knight was relentless on his inner quest, focused and determined to find the elusive companionship that his very sole yearned for, that the world seemed to cease to matter. His quest led him both near and far, yet he never discovered his expected prey. Throughout the days his head was filled with wonder and curiosity, creating the world in that he and his fair maiden would reside. A world without dragons or despair, without hunger or hatred, A world completely filled with fun and ecstasy, and small furry creatures. This brought him great joy, tho this joy could not carry him through his nights. This Knight suffered through the night with greatest of sorrow and despair. The daemons of the night were erasing the utopia of the day. In sleep, the Knight was unable to control his thoughts, his mind lost its focus, and the world took on a completely unnerving life of its own. The Knight found no peace in the nights. Turning to the only salvation he knew, the (slightly less than) noble Knight discovered his friends barley and hops made the night quiet, (but not very restful). The Knight had the good fortune to be blessed with access to a wise sage. Although this sage was quite a blessed young maiden, endowed on both the physical and spiritual dimension, the sage offered the safety and protection the Knight required. It turns out that this sage, in all of her maiden wonderment, was previously accounted for. (i.e. She had a boyfriend!) This security from the misconceptions of their conversations and activities together allowed the Knight to explore his quest, dreams, desires, and daemons with nothing but non-judgmental support. This sage provided the lonely Knight with a set of ears onto which he could pour out his heart, without worry of betrayal, and without the tension that he felt with others. This unrestricted openness, which created a certain amount of closeness, was often misinterpreted by those who witnessed any such actions. The Knight met up with a great many damsels in distress throughout the countryside (not to mention, too many of the wretched and wicked who frequented those parts). And even with the rewards and favors bestowed upon the sole whom would lift such damsels from their distress, the Knight discovered the joy found in such actions was purely superficial and lacked stability. This did not satisfy his true desires, although matters of the flesh are easier satisfied than matters of the heart! (Not that there is any meaning in that message!) Thus the Knight continued on his quest. For he felt in his heart that the maiden of his dreams, the one sole who was exactly what he had imagined within his dreams, must exist, and surely he would find her, if he would only stay focused and persistent to his quest. One fine (near) spring day the Knights journey turned down a completely unforeseen path. While the Knight had been focused on his personal quest, he remained completely unaware of the changes in his surrounding environment. It seems that the wise sage had embarked on a new journey of her own, a journey unencumbered by the restrictions of "being accounted for". (i.e. She dumped the boyfriend!) This created quite a bump in the good Knights quest, as his actions and involvement with the sage had continued in steady manor for quite sometime before he became aware of her change in circumstance. The Knight now found himself completely "off keel" in action and interaction with the sage. Although he still had great need for her within the same light as always, but now found an additional perspective within the relationship between the Knight and the sage. continued..... |
